Getting around the archipelago
Planning a trip to the islands of Guadeloupe undeniably means planning several trips in one. To experience the archipelago at its best, it goes without saying that a trip to one of our islands is essential. Marie-Galante, Les Saintes, La Désirade are must-sees in the destination. To get there, the most common way is to take a boat. The lines are regular but the frequency varies depending on the period.
We strongly advise you, to make the most of it, to spend one or more nights on the islands but the return trip is always possible during the day.
Join the Saintes
The main port providing connections to Les Saintes is that of Trois-Rivières. Two companies are at your disposal for the crossing, these are CTM DEHER and Val Ferry. The islands express also offers to connect the Saintes from Pointe à Pitre but the connections only take place two days a week. The Saintes are in reality an archipelago and two islands are inhabited. If you want to go from Terre-de-Haut to Terre-de-Bas, you will have to take the shuttle from one or the other.

Comadile offers Marie-Galante/Les Saintes (Terre-de-Haut) connections. Departure is from Marie-Galante at 8:20 a.m. and departure from Les Saintes to Marie-Galante at 3:30 p.m.

Going to Marie-Galante is the guarantee of a change of scenery. The island has remained very authentic and offers numerous beaches but also numerous cultural visits. If you live in the east of Grande-Terre you are then closer to the port of Saint-François, from where a daily shuttle leaves for Grand-Bourg de Marie-Galante. It is the Comadile who ensures the connection. The boat leaves the port of Saint-François at 7:15 a.m. and that of Grand-Bourg at 4:35 p.m.

Join the Désirade
To go to La Désirade, the only port serving this island is that of Saint-François. Two service providers are at your disposal to follow the coast to Pointe des Châteaux and cross to the port of Beauséjour at La Désirade. These are Comadile and Babou One. Connections take place every day. La Désirade Island is the least touristy of the archipelago so if you dream of white sand all to yourself in the shade of coconut trees, you will be happy on this island. Very beautiful hikes are also possible and the lodges, hotels and restaurants will meet your desire to disconnect.
From Basse-Terre to Grande-Terre and vice versa
To go from Basse-Terre to Grande-Terre, if public transport is developed, such as Karulis buses and boat buses, it is still advisable to reserve a car in order to be able to discover the richness of these two islands . The roads are of good quality even if the harsh climate takes its toll on them. The highway code is strictly identical to that of mainland France.
The delivery of your vehicle is frequently done at the Pôle Caraibes airport, however it should be noted that many rental companies also offer vehicles at ferry terminals or even at your resort and this on the 6 inhabited islands.
